• Are the ingredients organic

Yes all our ingredients are 100% organic and have a USDA certification. Our tallow is 100% organic grass-fed and grass-finished. We highly value and prioritize making sure all our ingredients are non-toxic and not treated with chemicals, fertilizers, hormones, insecticides, etc.

  • What can I do if my product melts

Tallow melts at 85 degrees. It is best to store it in a cool, out of the sun. If it does melt, the oils may separate. Simply mix them together gently and use as before. Can be placed in the fridge till product is solid again. Melting does not change the effectiveness of the product.

  • What if I have plant allergies

Some of our products contains, nuts, flowers and seed ingredients. If you have a plant allergy you can try our The Balm. It is unscented and does not contain plant ingredients. Products are produced in the same facility with other oils.

  • Expiration date for Balms

We recommend using your tallow product within six months of receiving it. While tallow can keep for a year or more, if it becomes contaminated it can develop mold (since we don't use any preservatives or stabilizers in our products). Because of this, it's important that you don't allow any water to enter your product and don't store it in a warm, moist place. If you see any black spots develop in your product, discontinue use. If your product has any black spots upon arrival, please contact us.

  • Does tallow smell

Tallow does have a natural odor, it smells different to everyone and some may love it (we think it smells sweet like icing) while others may not like it. Some products don't smell like tallow at all while some do end up with a faint tallow smell, it all depends on a variety of factors that are impossible to control. That's to be expected with natural products, they vary based on seasons as well the animal's diets. The infused oils that are added to the tallow do give a subtle herbal scent. We don't believe it's necessary to add fragrances and prefer to offer a safer product with a milder scent. We do quality check each batch we release, but if you are unsatisfied with your product please don't hesitate to contact us right away.

  • What is tallow

Tallow is defined as the oil rendered from the suet (or fat) of animals such as cows in our products. Now, you may be picturing the gristle you cut off your steak or what’s left in your pan after cooking ground beef, but the tallow we render and use is a hard, white, tasteless and mildly sweet smelling oil that is solid at room temperature and, unlike the actual fat tissues, can be stored for long periods without refrigeration. When applied to the skin, it absorbs completely, isn’t greasy and has bioavailable nutrients.

  • In summary tallow is

    • Serves as a skin superfood, giving your skin the essential fat-soluble vitamins it needs to restore and maintain balance.
    • Contains the closest fatty acid profile to our own skin and oil, allowing it to be absorbed quickly and easily.
    • Is an age-old, tried and tested skincare solution, used well before today’s chemical-laden, petroleum- and water-based products.
    • Is stable and does not oxidize or go rancid easily, like other plant-based products that also may damage skin cells.
    • Contains essential acids that help maintain microbial balance.
  • How to use our balms

All of our balms can be used on any part of your body, but to get the best results, we have formulated balms that address specific areas. Please see our product description pages, as well as the label, for details.
